Great InventionReview Date: 2010-04-28 Rating: 8 out of 10There have been VCR's for 30 years it was about time this came along. The device works well. In areas with strong radio signals, reception isn't a problem. However, it is prone to poor reception with some orientations but this can usually be fixed by moving the antenna around to find a better position. It is also susceptible to interference. My stereo and television create too much interference for good reception. They have to be turned off. My house is in a rural area 30 miles from town and the RadioShark still gets a good signal without an auxiliary antenna. Sound quality is good but not CD quality. I do not like the software though. Making time shift recordings with the RadioShark1 software is awkward and time consuming to program. Software from the RadioShark2 can be downloaded from the company website and is an improvement. Neither device will work with Windows7. I contacted customer support and they said it would be some time until they had a Windows7 driver.

ReviewsMake sure you get the latest update for this item.Review Date: 2010-03-26 Rating: 6 out of 10Cool radio for your computer. But make sure you get the latest update for this item. Mine came with a CD. I installed the software. It caused havoc on my Mac. It started literally "EATING" GB's from my hard drive. In just a few days- my hard drive space went down by more than 100 GB's! And that, just after using the radio only once! Other than that, it's a fun addition for your computer.Almost a good ProductReview Date: 2009-10-15 Rating: 2 out of 10The Radio Shark is almost a good product. It was easy to install and worked right out of the box. The software has a few minor glitches that are annoying but not fatal. The fatal flaw in this product is the radio reciever itself. I live in the San Antonio area and can only pick up one station with enough clarity to record. On any other radio I own there are a dozen stations that come in very clear. Fornutaly for me the one station I can recieve is the one I wanted to record so the product is working for me.Awful ReceptionReview Date: 2009-09-13 Rating: 2 out of 10In comparison with radios located at the identical spot in my house, this radio gets truly awful AM reception. The manufacturer sells an extra antenna, but the reviews are not good. My Radioshark was non-returnable. So I threw it away as useless. Avoid this product, of course, and if this one is so bad, probably any others by this company. (Note: I bought it for recording sports on AM; I did not have a reason to try the FM. But generally FM antennas need to be bigger than AM, and the AM doesn't work, so...)I LOVE IT!Review Date: 2009-06-18 Rating: 10 out of 10I almost didn't buy it because of these bad reception reviews... I'm glad I did. I now listen to my favorite talk shows when I have time to listen to them and I skip the commercials. TiVo for Radio!
